Yes, glxgears works just fine, quite fast, even concurrently with linuxcnc (although the latter 'stutters' somewhat in it's movement when both are running) :-). I haven't seen anything suspicious in /var/log/messages either. btw. I have a version of linuxcnc (axis splash screen = "V2.6.0~pre") running on an older opensuse (11.3). The binary from this runs fine on the new system (including live plot), but I wanted to have the actual 2.5 release. Any other ideas ?
