Matt:
When my interest was tweaked last year by discussions of APT and the like, I went off and downloaded the two versions of APT360 I could find on the Internet. I wasn't thrilled by the 300+ files in FORTRAN and ASM(!) nor by their C equivalents that had been cranked out (I assume) by f77. Is APT 4 SSX 8 in similar bits and pieces? That would make either a port or a reimplementation a real challenge. Just figuring out how the APT360 files fit together dissuaded me from "studying the algorithms." Even though I think I can fake my former expertise in FORTRAN (my first rinky-dink program, in 1962, calculated resonant circuit parameters for popular B&W coil sizes), I have no stomach for trying to recreate my 1970-vintage mastery of Assembler/360. If you get to the point you are puzzled about some FORTRAN razzle-dazzle, you can always throw it on the wall and see if you can catch the eye of one of us sidewalk superintendents. Good luck. Regards, Kent PS - Now that I'm retired and also no longer kibitzing with university research groups, I can offer no weight to your petition for release of the code. I hope that goes well. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Live Security Virtual Conference Exclusive live event will cover all the ways today's security and threat landscape has changed and how IT managers can respond.
