Can you have a 1:1 Autotransformer? I can see ways that an autotransformer might solve the problem, depending on how it was wired. Consider 3 x centre tapped windings on a shared core. If the centre-taps are connected together to make a neutral, then if you connect the rotary converter to the left-hand-ends, and the infeed unit to the other, and then connect the centre taps all to neutral/earth, doesn't that do what is needed? I think it is likely that the underlying problem is a filter cap to earth, which is fed by voltages with no earth reference. -- atp If you can't fix it, you don't own it. http://www.ifixit.com/Manifesto ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Live Security Virtual Conference Exclusive live event will cover all the ways today's security and threat landscape has changed and how IT managers can respond.
