Then, Intel drops the boards, and lets some of their usual customers (SuperO, Tyan, etc.) make almost identical boards with their chipsets, while others like Dell make more customized boards. I suspect that the generic makers will make boards that are almost identical, wire for wire, to the Intel board, and thus they should have the same latency performance.
