I love this discussion! When kids blow bubbles (from those little bottles) they do so by dipping a ring with a handle in the fluid. Make a similar ring/handle the size of the glue pattern you need, use a a linear actuator to dip it in a pot of glue then bring the marble over and touch the ring.
