A 750w velocity mode servo rated at 2.9Nm continuous including motor, drive, power supply, and 25ft cables for only about $625. I haven't seen any prices close to that anywhere.
Sure I could get a Pico amp for $150, but I'd still have to build a power supply, cabling, find a decent motor...
