I recently tried an ELO APR touch screen but was unable to get it to
work with Ubuntu 10.04. Having said that I have an ELO that uses
Intellitouch and that works fine for me. I to like the backplot and
gscreen is progressing quite well. I've also started some tutorials on
rolling your own GUI's for my education mostly but it is possible to
just build one to suit your needs. I tried 800 x 600 and was not happy
with the result. The 15" ELO's have a 1024 x 768 resolution and that
seems to me to be easier to fit most things into. On my most recent
conversion I have a button box with program start, program pause, e
stop, jog increment selector, and axis selector. On the X axis I have a
MPG mounted and it is quite nice for setup and positioning for touch off
and material location. http://gnipsel.com/shop/bp1/bp1.xhtml The 19"
touch screen is a bit of overkill when a 15" would have been plenty
big... but hindsight is 20-20.
