DAVE,
The original setup was a tubular crush sleeve that used a pair of steel
collar with setscrews bearing against some steel cylindrical pins to crush
the thin walled tube down into the keyways in the screw and motor shaft. If
the new motors shafts were not larger than the existing ones I might try to
recreate that setup but with them being larger and also for the ease of
installation of the clamp type collars available now I will just upgrade.
I posted a possible set I saw on eBay from China yesterday but nobody had
any comments on it apparently.... I am leaning towards them but they do
not provide much information on them. Still looking for alternative
reasonably priced suggestions....

Those sensors are similar to the hall effect ones I have considered for
it. I am actually looking for input more about the idea of using the single
aperture shutter wheel on the spindle with linuxcnc as to whether it works
well or not more than I am looking for sensor suggestions although that is
welcome too....peace
