I run both Windows and Linux on my Mac under VMware. I use Windows to run AutoDesk Inventor (I used to drive Inventor for a job, and I have a legitimate home license as a side-effect of my current job) and I keep a farm of different LinuxCNC installs for testing purposes. I am happy with it, but it does cost money. Inventor is a bit sluggish, but I think this is actually the 3GB memory limit of XP rather than a VMWare issue.
