Am I missing something? I have always thought that this is the exact reason
why people are using 64 bit OSes - 32 bit do not recognize more than 4 gb
of ram. AFAIK 32 bit windows will report no more than 3,2 gb, when there
are 4 gb or more installed in motherboard, I do not know about Linux. Are
there any differences?

If you can't fix it, you don't own it.
