Results may vary, but there are a BUNCH of knowledgeable techs
and ex-techs on there, some of who still do some work on the
side. The problem is finding the right place to put the message
so one of the guys who knows will actually notice it.

Hope you get hooked up with somebody who knows it.
Does the old Cinci control still work? It might be possible to
put a scope, logic analyzer or protocol analyzer on the
connection and discover the protocol. I think somebody
indicated it might just be RS-485 serial? You could probably
rig a level converter and connect it to a PC serial port (or
USB serial pod) to record the traffic. Click some stuff on
the control, record what lights on the I/O modules change
and compare to the recorded traffic. I suspect the protocol
would be dead simple.
