Check the required gate drives, the bigger device often is obtained by paralleling additional chips on the same heat spreader frame, and need correspondingly more driving current from the trigger driver. FWIW, this is also true for most of the hexfet family, with the gate capacitance the driver sees a direct relationship to the number of actual gates.
