Hello everybody. I'm in the process of buy a servomotor for an application that requires it.
The things is I have a know person that have a dual spindle lathe (the ones without tailstock that have a robot to change the part from one spindle to the other). So, he took it to be retrofitted and the guys who did this replaced all the control and servos for a new complete siemens system (a lot of money). The old control was problematic but the sevos and drives are ok apparently. *The servos are BLDC from Indramat and the model number of the drives is "TDM 1.2 50 - 300 - W1". I would like to know if any of you have information, or know anything about these drives since they would be great for what I need. * *I guess they are controlled in an analog way, but I don't have any manuals or datasheets about them so I don't know a thing about the control method, voltages or anything like that. I have a mesa 5i20 installed on one machine so I could test the drives with analog voltage and servo loop in LinuxCNC. But the thing is I don't know where to start.* If some of you can give a hand, I would be really thanked. The idea is to test the drives, see if they work and if everything is ok buy them really cheap since they are waiting on a rack to be used. As always thanks for your support. -- *Leonardo Marsaglia*. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Introducing Performance Central, a new site from SourceForge and AppDynamics.
