The 5i25 + 7i76 combo kit is the same price as the ethernet connected 7i76E. 
$199 for either. (Mesa hasn't updated their price list to include the 7i76E.) 
The 7i76E has some additional features.

I'm leaning towards the 7i76E since it's all in one board and with Ethernet I 
can put the control computer just about anywhere in the shop, or easily swap 
between computers up close or far away. As for what to do with the extras like 
the daughterboard connectors, I never know what may come up. Same price but get 
more goodies? That's a deal I'm always willing to accept!

If it was more $ than the 5i25 + 7i76 then it'd be no contest since the two 
boards will do everything I'll need *right now* and anything I can think of 
that I know I'll want to add like a 4th axis.

Can I put my mill on my LAN and operate/monitor it from any computer running 
CNC software that'll work with that board?
