The issue is RCN's images and scripts are far more generic than what I
am creating.  He creates a single minimal Debian image that needs to be
able to generate a bootable SD card for any of several different boards
(the BeagleBones, the original Beagle Board, the Beagle XM, etc) as well
as support installing into the on-board eMMC flash.  That's why so much
stuff is getting pulled in from on-line.

Since we really only care about one platform, caching the files in the
tarball to make installation easier is reasonable.
