Maybe start here: http://www.linuxcnc.org/docs/html/common/user_intro.html > I'm running from a parallel port to a 4 axis set of controllers, but > only have 3 stepper motors to attach to my 3in1 metal working machine. > > I understand Axis is the GUI for LCNC. For initial setup you can use Stepconf to set up the parallel port connections. For a 3-in-one machine you might want to create a different LinuxCNC congiguration for each "mode". My combined lathe/mill has two configurations which map the G-code axes onto machine axes in different ways. > Last question: What is the etiquette on this list for replies? I prefer inserted, but I don't make the rules. -- atp If you can't fix it, you don't own it. http://www.ifixit.com/Manifesto ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ "Accelerate Dev Cycles with Automated Cross-Browser Testing - For FREE Instantly run your Selenium tests across 300+ browser/OS combos.
