Yes, but that would be driving the axis directly, and not with the frame and 
the gear in between. It's not so hard to calculate the angle of rotation with a 
given torque.

Todd, what would be the geometry of the axis? Tube or solid rod? What's the 
outer diameter, And if a tube, what's the wall thickness (approx is good enough)
