For your purposes of running machine tools with linuxcnc,
consider a mini-itx motherboard with an x86 or amd64
processor to be a "single-board computer" of $100 cost.
There are bleeding edge efforts being conducted to run
linuxcnc-based software on BeagleBoneBlack single board
computers, but those efforts are not to the point that
you could set up and run one of your machines with the BBB.

this week i learned about of single board computer. and some idea about how
to program it how it works.
just interesting if it be possible to run linuxcnc on single board computer?
i understand that it will only linuxcnc - no internet, no any word
processor etc.
trade of - loose something to gain something.
maybe just buy single board computer with linuxcnc already on it.
i think that single board computer cost less than $100., but one knows that
it works fo sure
