I've found some circa-2006 discussions of using linuxcnc to run an EDM, which means feedrate has to be determined by a feedback process, rather than specified in the g-code. I'm wondering if anyone knows if this ever was implemented. I'd like to do something similar by varying speed rate as a function of spindle rpm. I'm having troubles with my spindle controller, and while I'm working on a replacement, it'd be nice to avoid making bad parts and beating up bits by slowing the machine down when the controller spontaneously decides to slow down 30% mid-cut.
