The concept is simplicity, you don't need a PC and the entire driver setup to run a small desktop or similar machine, this is an integrated package, more or less wire up and go. I am going to build a few machines for educational purpose and for a hobbyist workshop, we can still run the LinuxCNC simulator and there are post processors for LxCNC in CAM-packages.
