I've found that the DOS software for the PLM2000 will run under XP and XP allows it to communicate with the mill, that should make it easier to find a program to log all the two way communications over the serial port.
Any suggestions for a program that can do that? Is there a test NC file I can run to put the machine through its paces while logging communications? arcs, linear moves, rapids, spindle speed changes, circular and helical interpolation, hitting all six limit switches etc. It does have six individual limit switch circuits rather than just a single one that deciphers which one is hit based on the last direction it was moving. I can manually trip switches with it not moving and the display shows which one it is. Hopefully if I can log that data it will make it possible to add support to LCNC. --- This email has been checked for viruses by Avast antivirus software. http://www.avast.com ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Dive into the World of Parallel Programming The Go Parallel Website, sponsored by Intel and developed in partnership with Slashdot Media, is your hub for all things parallel software development, from weekly thought leadership blogs to news, videos, case studies, tutorials and more.
