I suspect that it would be better to swap the leadscrews for preloaded balls screws. That might not be horrible expensive for something BCA sized. Closed-loop stepper systems typically run the step-generators in velocity mode, and use a PID controller connected to the scales to calculate the velocity required to stay in position. But the system almost certainly wouldn't operate fast enough to prevent the wok rattling inside the backlash during a boring operation, for example. Whereas a ballscrew swap would. -- atp If you can't fix it, you don't own it. http://www.ifixit.com/Manifesto ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ One dashboard for servers and applications across Physical-Virtual-Cloud Widest out-of-the-box monitoring support with 50+ applications Performance metrics, stats and reports that give you Actionable Insights Deep dive visibility with transaction tracing using APM Insight. http://ad.doubleclick.net/ddm/clk/290420510;117567292;y _______________________________________________ Emc-users mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/emc-users
