Thanks Chris, I reworked it using the halui.feed-inhibit with a set/reset coil for the push-button interaction, and it works perfect, stopping the machine,
I paralleled the inhibit signal along side the halui.program.pause and halui.program.resume outputs in my ladder program. I re-compiled back to the current 2.6.8, and motion stops as it should, due to utilizing the feed inhibit, but, on the resume there is still some funny business that I am noticing, a couple of times, after I hit resume, the machine actually sat there for 3-4 seconds, before continuing with the programmed g-code.
