I'm not sure this is the exact problem you are having, but

log shows

and line 1596 shows:
[    91.871] (WW) VESA(0): No valid modes left. Trying less 
strict filter...

which looks pretty serious, but then it tries again.  But, 
with all this failure, first the Nouveau driver then the 
VESA driver, there must be something seriously wrong.
