Hi Dave, I didn't state that very well. MACH3 is no longer being developed and still needs a license file once and then runs forever stand alone. MACH4 is really a totally new program (only the name is the same with 4 replacing the 3) and it has the call home license feature. I haven't seen anything on the MACH3 forum that suggests anything different. They went that route because the thousands or hundreds of thousands of users who wouldn't have bought MACH3 in the first place are all using one single license file. The same will happen with MACH4. Either someone will crack the license model or the current crop of users will stay with unlicensed cracked WIN-XP and MACH3. In both cases they wouldn't have paid Microsoft nor Mach3. What will really happen ultimately is LinuxCNC will become the dominant CNC program out there for people who don't want a call home virus running on their PC. John
