I brought up the idea about splitting user interface and real time parts and there actually are NML communication between these today, maybe a little bit broken but not to much.
I am also working at moving position control from linuxcnc to stepper generator for steppers. Then it should be possible with a receive fifo which reduce real time demand and in particular network traffic for feed back loops. It will also be possible to broadcast all positions in one network packet to several receiving nodes. Both of them are only about deployment.
