I found that each and every one of the attendees and exhibitors and vendors were down to earth, nice people. It was a pleasure to be there. Techshop Detroit was very accommodating. Ron Ginger was also a pleasure to meet in person. I did have my machine-kit driven CNC lathe there last year, which drew a bit of interest. This year they do have a CNC lathe build, but IIRC the interface used is one of those expensive, Mach-only ones. (Ron - pardon me for rooting for the LinuxCNC vendors!) It would have been interesting to use a pico or mesa interface and show LinuxCNC also running on the build-lathe - but it will not be me doing it this year.
