The way our encoder works, the sensing of the second index pulse would be the latest that power up error got fixed. It, if sitting on it at power up, might miss the first index. Heck, just rocking the spindle by hand until you see an index pulse should fix any power up errors. So I'm with Andy, its a never mind.
