In his much younger years, my father worked in the tire shop at a Montgomery 
Ward store. He really hated doing split rim truck tires. The mounting machine 
had a cage to flip down when air was pumped in to seat the beads.
The rule was, anyone caught not using the cage would be fired on the spot. Also 
pointed out were a few ring shaped dents in the shop ceiling above the tire 
machine.
