Pix worked fine. Cute little work holders, your patent, or can I buy
them someplace?

I don't have any layout blue, which would been nice, so I scribbled some
magic marker lines, which I quit doing toward the end, instead running
then up snug & jogging end to end a couple times with the lube wiped off
to make wear marks, then applied the pressure where the wear marks were.
Maybe not traditional, but seems to have worked quite well. That half a
thou my dial said is about 10 thou less than what I started with. For
me thats a huge improvement. :)

Provided we don't drown too many frogs tonight or tomorrow, lots of
thunder boomers out, I should be able to get it turned around and the
back side tapered gib setup installed for the first test fit tomorrow.
Except of coarse I'll need to drill and tap for the adjustment screw. I
still have not figured out where Kruger found enough steel to drill for
a locking setscrew. My only path would be thru the outside face of the
clamp, but my apron replacement that holds the ballnut would need
machined for allen wrench access clearance. I can put a pivoting lever
on the side of the apron to reach over and hold the screw into solid
engagement with the notches in the gib the screws head engages a whole
lot easier on the front. I've not yet invented the rear locking
arrangement either. So the back one I suspect will not be a 1 day job
either. But it won't have to be quite as precisely fitted. Best if it
is though.

Humm, this will probably make me redo the Z homing, because the switch is
currently activated by the head of the bolt holding the clamp as it
exists now. With the thicker clamp activating the Z home switch, the
bolts are counterbored to sit nominally flush, so the switch will get
tripped about 10mm quicker. No biggie, other than me remembering it. :(

Thanks Andy.

Cheers, Gene Heskett
