Greetings all;

During the brief time this was working, one of the things I found was a
need for a backlash setting in the 8 or 9 thou range for Z.

Putting a dial on the end of the screw, the measured end play there was
around .0055".

So theres 2 places that need adjusting. The nut that draws the bearing
inners together is quite tight. So I am assuming I'll have to take a
few thou off the faces of the inner races. Thats easily enough done.
IIRC I did that then I put the 1605 screw on TLM.

The rest of it, I suspect is going to need oversize balls reloaded in the
nut. Its a cheap C7 grade screw I only paid about $170 for, 1450mm
long, so I guess I got what I paid for.

Since getting to the nut at this stage of the build is a major teardown
as its all hidden in protective bellows, I am wondering if anyone
recalls the size of the balls it might have, its a 2505 screw and nut,
so I can go trolling fleabay for a bag of balls thats about .0015"
larger?

Cheers, Gene Heskett
