Cooper tried to buy mine not too long after they acquired Weller.
Offered me $250 USD worth of anything in their catalog. No sale. It
looks like death warmed over, but plug it in and it gets hot. Probably
100,000+ hours on it, still on the OEM heater. It went on with the shop
lights at KOTA-TV for several years. At one time I could get tips in 50
degree steps from 550F to 900F, but this link totally ignores that
capability, apparently stocking only the 700 degree tips. That
seriously restricts the utility of its use. The temp is whats stamped on
the curie button on the rear, and a 7 means 700 degrees. Thats too hot
for some pcb material, so this one has had 600 degree tips in it for at
least 50% of its working life.

I've a $285 hot air rework station that gets pulled out for construction
projects, but the TCP does 90% of the one or two joint projects since I
retired. Handpiece cordage on the HA station is about 2 feet short.
