Yes, thats huge. and I am far from convinced we have that now.
Our Callaway County plant has been running for 35 years.
There have been a few shutdowns, but as far as I know,
nothing major. They DO seem to take this plant seriously.
The same utility has had a few other incidents, like letting
the upper reservoir on their pumped storage facility
collapse, washing away an entire state park. Or, not
installing the bus bars on a pair of 600 MVA alternators as
recommended by GE, and during rework they flew apart and
killed 2 guys, and required a multi-million $ rebuild of the
alternators.
