At full song, I expect I could measure well over 1.75 hp. Its a 1 hp rated 90 volt, 9.7 amp on the nameplate motor, stock on the G0704 but is current limited to around 17 amps at 126 DC volts. Useing one of the Pico Systems PWM-Servo amplifiers. Its a great spindle motor driver, but be sure and tell Jon so he can double up on the toroids so they don't overheat when working continuously. From 2900 fwd to 2900 reverse is around 400 milliseconds. And the servo amp chirps as it goes into current limit. I have a smaller supply good for about 105 volts on TLM. Max curent at about 14 amps. But I had to put a longer turnaround timer in it else it strips the teeth off the drive belt turning around with a 5" 4 jaw chuck mounted. In both cases the limiter is a limit3, which can make a sine-squared waveform for the pid input. Much easier on drive parts as max accell is at zero speed. So says the theory anyway, seems to work.
I try to keep the TTS shanks clean but haven't washed them down with alcohol just to make sure they are dry. So they are as clean as my hands. Wiped on a piece of scotts. :) Cheers, Gene Heskett -- "There are four boxes to be used in defense of liberty: soap, ballot, jury, and ammo.
