Huh, I didn't think of that. Yes, that would work. Availability of longer lengths at sane prices seems to be a bit of an issue though. Using that technique L, H etc inch belt sizes should also work. I did find a supplier of 30mm H section open belt on eBay. Enough for a 4M gantry driven on both sides would be around £180. Not too bad. It is polyurethane rather than rubber so sticking it could be a problem. Unknown Chinese manufacturer so quality is unknown.
