> You folks would choose? Worst surprise is the shipping, $65 or so. I can vouch for the Teknic Clearpath SD motors. I retrofitted a small router with two NEMA 34 and one NEMA 23. I was concerned about them having enough torque but it turned out that I had to dial X and Y back to about 60% because they would kick and shake the machine around too much during the auto tuning procedure. The little NEMA 23 moved the 2.2KW Elte spindle at more than 1G acceleration via an ACME lead screw. In comparison, the stepper was capable of less than half of that acceleration.
I don’t have any specs on the original steppers to compare but they were sized similarly to the Clearpath SD. Their claim to 2-3x more power/motor volume can also be applied to acceleration from standstill, in my application. They are a bit pricy though; $260 for the smallest NEMA 23 they sell. Around $330 for the smallest NEMA 34. _______________________________________________ Emc-users mailing list Emc-users@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/emc-users
