I can vouch for the Teknic Clearpath SD motors. I retrofitted a small router 
with two NEMA 34 and one NEMA 23. I was concerned about them having enough 
torque but it turned out that I had to dial X and Y back to about 60% because 
they would kick and shake the machine around too much during the auto tuning 
procedure. The little NEMA 23 moved the 2.2KW Elte spindle at more than 1G 
acceleration via an ACME lead screw. In comparison, the stepper was capable of 
less than half of that acceleration.

I don’t have any specs on the original steppers to compare but they were sized 
similarly to the Clearpath SD. Their claim to 2-3x more power/motor volume can 
also be applied to acceleration from standstill, in my application.

They are a bit pricy though; $260 for the smallest NEMA 23 they sell. Around 
$330 for the smallest NEMA 34.
