actually if anyone has a minute I am just about to connect my MPG up to the mesa 7i76 board.
I am using the 5v fanuc mpg for now just to get it working. I will use the 12 volt mpg later probably or buy a whole pendant. I think I may need to connect the 5vground and 24v ground together on the mesa card. I am just a bit reluctant to do that as then I loose the opto isolation and the pc could get damaged etc.. can someone pleasee confirm if that is really what I have to do to get a 5 volt mpg working.. and also if I do that want dangers am i introducing to my mesa card.. regards Andrew On Thu, Apr 9, 2020 at 10:17 AM andrew beck <[email protected]> wrote: > Haha thanks Sam! > > On Thu, Apr 9, 2020, 9:51 AM Sam Sokolik <[email protected]> wrote: > >> Yay!!! >> >> >> On Wed, Apr 8, 2020, 4:32 PM andrew beck <[email protected]> >> wrote: >> >> > hi guys if anyone wants to connect a external e stop with linuxcnc and >> have >> > it all connected up properly, I finally worked it out and made a video >> of >> > the process. >> > >> > my E stop video showing the whole process from start to finish (its long >> > and boring but should help people who are stuck lol) >> > <https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rBeX-bVDkJw> >> > >> > Hopefully people can follow this video. there are only 2 changes in the >> Hal >> > file required from the stock step of pncconf configuration and 2 DPDT >> > relays to connect the external circuit together and link everything >> > together as I wanted >> > >> > Thanks so much to everyone here that helps me so much it is much >> > appreciated. >> > >> > and thanks to Sam for his awesome Estop video that helped me so much. >> > sam's E stop video if you are interested. >> > <https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hVkNtq4C1F8&t=3s> >> > regards >> > andrew >> > >> > _______________________________________________ >> > Emc-users mailing list >> > [email protected] >> > https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/emc-users >> > >> >> _______________________________________________ >> Emc-users mailing list >> [email protected] >> https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/emc-users >> > _______________________________________________ Emc-users mailing list [email protected] https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/emc-users
