That's a key statement.  It's perfect and works with absolutely everything as 
long as you only are wise enough to use component X.

Here's where I have an issue with supporting what you posted in your link.  
From that link:
"Allwinner does not actively participate in or support this community. In fact, 
it is violating the GPLv2 license in several ways and has so far not shown 
willingness to resolve this."

I think we've beat this to death.
