Ye old Wheezy iso doesn’t work on that machine either. It will boot but locks up when you try to run Linuxcnc or the latency test. So I didn't think trying it's kernel with Buster was worth the effort. But Ye old(er) Lucid ISO works great.

You could try Ye Olde Wheezy kernel with 32-bit Buster.
