At the moment I'm still running the AC Servo with PWM mostly because I've been 
trying to learn a bit more about HAL PID programming.  The pulleys from motor 
to spindle are V Belt and not quite the same size so once I switch over to 
step/dir I'm pretty sure I'm still going to have to use PID with the encoder 
for closed loop control.

But the up side is I have the 60 tooth disk and slotted sensors working with 
the MESA 7i92H.  At the moment it's all a mass of wires.

Just wondering if some taps are better than others.  I do have a floating 
collet based tap holder although I think I read somewhere they don't work as 
well for closed loop power tapping because they can't apply downward pressure 
as well as a fixed tap holder.
