I don't Ken, I intent to cut the full length of the stasrt position in one pass, rotating this new axis at the thread pitch until I'm at the other end of the stick. > Is the final thread diameter to be about > 2-inch or much smaller? Just under 2" diameter, I already have the half nuts printed, which are identical with 2 start threads and a preliminary run with a bigger tool will be used to make it round. That will be the shakedown run for the harmonic drive, which has been running slowly with occasional spurts up to around 5 rpm on the kitchen counter for a couple months already. With a 1/4" mill in the chuck that should be a much faster routine. I've not yet placed a TLO measuring pad, which I'll need for restarts when a tool fails but thats just details. I've even printed a short section of the bolt to use as a measurment reference when writing the profile data, even adding or subtracting a tolerance for thread clearance, so I have a pretty good model to measure from. Thanks, take care and stay well, Ken. [...] Cheers, Gene Heskett. -- "There are four boxes to be used in defense of liberty: soap, ballot, jury, and ammo.
