Thank you.  
Yes that gets rid of the panel.  The version for the 1024x768 does not extend 
out like the other two windows.  The psng_scroll.glade does expand out and the 
button icons are complete.  Yippee!

So that of course brings up a new question.  How do I intercept the selection 
for the Probe Screen to create the Ctrl-E and latch the information so that 
when one of the other two tabs is selected the panel is restored?

Shouldn't have to remember to do a Ctrl-E or that the Ctrl-E even exists. I 
want this to be automatic.
