Yes, EAP-FIDO expired. That is indeed a result of the author being busy. It might also, to a lesser extent, be caused by the concern that the FIDO environment can't be tied to the underlying operating system in a straightforward manner for functions such as bringing up the network, if I remember that point correctly. I don't know if Janfred was every able to chase down the real-world feasibility of the scheme. It remains in our charter and open to being reinvigorated if he or others make progress on the document.

It's still on hold for now, but since most of the projects that have held this thing up are now finished, I'll start working on it again soon, and, if everything works out well, under the name "EAP-NetAuthn".
For anyone interested in this, I'll be at the hackathon in Montreal, so come see me, talk to me about it if you want to help or know more about it.
