HMAC is a cryptographic message authentication code algorithm EncFS can calculate and store such a code as part of each block. The code ensures that EncFS can automatically authenticate that the files have not changed while they were stored on the untrusted remote server. I believe this functionality is not available with the --reverse option. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/HMAC -mpb ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This SF.net email is sponsored by: High Quality Requirements in a Collaborative Environment.
