Hi,

I'm using the --reverse option in order to backup local files to an
untrusted remote server using rsync.

When I would like to restore, is it possible to write files on the
mounted encrypted directory and have them automatically decrypted in the
original directory ?

I read the Damian Moore post and I tested the trick of using -T option
for storing rsync temporary files on a temporary directory instead of
using the targed encrypted mount point.

But my question is: whas the --reverse option intended also to be used
in the other direction (i.e.: write encrypted files on the mount point
and have them automatically decrypted on the orginal directory ).

I can see it works but I want to know whether it was planned to work
this way or if it is an unintended effect that in a future version could
dissapear.

Thanks for any help.

Aldo
