Hi,

I'm new to encfs, so mine are probably silly questions. Sorry for that.

I've always used losetup in Linux to create encrypted filesystems in files,
as big as 73GB now. They are mounted instantly, as if no cryptography is being
used. The downside is that you have to grow the file manually, but is a very
small annoyance. I know encfs doesn't have this issue.

Now I'm trying something similar in android. I created an encfs volume as a
folder and I'm mounting it with the encfs binary that comes with Cryptonite
app. The volume has only 750MB, yet it takes 20 seconds for encfs to mount it!!
Not usable for what I need.

     Hence, my questions:

1. Is this normal? If so, are there alternatives?
2. Can encfs mount partitions, and if so, would that be any faster? Is it
better?
3. Any suggestion to speed up the process?
4. It would be great if you can suggest a howto link to setup everything, since
I wasn't able to find a good one.

      Thanks!

          L.
