Hi Pln, Answering your questions first :
1. If I meet a former or current English teacher at a party, whether I will greet him/ her or simply ignore him and walk away depends on the kind of person he has been. If he is kind, friendly, considerate and a well wisher of students, I'd love to talk with him. But he teaches only to fulfill his duty and pass time, it would simply ignore him. 2. If I find a lot of extra money in my bank account, I'd give it to charity. 3. Amartya, you got it wrong (You couldn't understand the question properly). Its not the partner who you dislike. The partner is much of your liking, but not the gift. Got it? You've answered the question thinking that the giver of gifts is not of your liking. It doesn't depend what the gift is, but the feelings with which gift has been given. So it doesn't matter if the gift is of one's liking or not. Moreover, one should not expect gifts from one's friend, partner or well-wisher. There must always be an element of surprise with gifts. Hi Lil, Your question : WHAT BEHAVIOUR IS NOT ACCEPTABLE AMONG FRIENDS? -- We should never hurt or taunt our friends. Words are powerful. They must be used only to cure, not to hurt. best wishes briana --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "English Learner's Cafe" group.
