Hi Pln,
The birth anniversary of Gautama Buddha was celebrated throughout Asia 2 days back. Buddha is considered a God incarnate among Buddhists and Hindus alike. It is known as Vesak or Buddha Purnima in India. [About Eastern faiths, which treat Gautama Buddha as an incarnate : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indian_religion] I don't know if Lao Tzu's works have been translated well and I don't know Chinese, but the is the essence of his teaching not similar to that of Buddha's ? Could you explain why it is dangerous to touch his work? According to the historical Buddha, Gautama Buddha, there were innumberable Buddhas before him and infinite Buddhas to come in future. Anyone who attains enlightenment, is a Buddha : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ram_Bahadur_Bomjon Please share your opinion with us.
