First time user today . . . PSPad is cool!

Anyway, I frequently have to reposition blocks of text so it makes sense
to column select some available spaces, and then copy (Ctrl+C) and paste
(Ctrl+V) the spaces to move some text over to the right. This works
flawlessly.

However, after I have pasted, I try to Shift+Up or Shift+Down to select
lines of text via the keyboard and cannot. I find that I cannot select
any text at all with the keyboard.

I am only able to restore keyboard text-select ability by randomly
selecting some text with the mouse.

Also, is there some way to make the cursor stay in the same position after
a paste operation? When I do a column paste, I want the cursor to stay at
the top line instead of moving to the bottom line of my paste area. This
way I can do multiple column pastes without having to reposition the
cursor every time.

Thanks,
Keith
