Hi itKiwi: Can you list your PSPad version, the OS name and version, and the settings you have in [Program Settings->Internet] and [Program Settings->Web Server]. I have seen this problem in old versions of PSPad and an old installation of WinXP Pro (about 3 years old). It opened an internet connection, and when I monitored it through the firewall logs, it appeared not send or receive anything. I disabled the "feature" in WinXP that allowed a program to do this. I recall that I had to delete a protected system dll, which is not straightforward. I have a dial up modem, and I was none to pleased at the time to see that WinXP allowed any program to dial up and connect to the internet without my interaction. I blame MS for including such stupid defaults with their OS. Not everybody has a permanent connection. Another lesson learned, and I now configure my internet connection to require I connect and disconnect by manually. I did noticed at the time that a fresh install of PSPad has settings for "Apachie" that contain default entries, when I am sure they should have been blank. This had to be an error in the build. They pointed to a local directory that did not exist on my computer. Since then I have always made a habit of checking the internet connections defaults after install or upgrade. However I have not seen this problem a newer computer (1 Year old) with WinXP Home installed, and a new download of PSPad. Hence my question above.
